My 30th B-day in Review...

I had a request from my good friend, Jon Miller for a review of my birthday extravaganza. Thanks for driving down (14 hours 1 way!) to celebrate with me, man. It meant the world to me seeing you walk around the corner at Union Jack's. You're one of the best there is, man! Don't forget to thank Anne for me, for letting you make the drive, too. She's the coolest!

I won't review every night, but i will say overall, it was a great time and i had some good people around to help me enjoy it. I also would like to point out that i didn't puke at all, but i had some miserable hangovers! Thanks for that, y'all.

Instead of a traditional review, i've opted to send out some thank yous instead. Check it out if you have a little time.

Lee and Travis, thanks for gettin' people over, decorating the place and most importantly for the keg o' Shiner! Mmm, mmm, mmm, what a treat! Oh and thanks for putting up with my eccentricities, my obsessive need to recycle and all my bad habits, too. Sometimes i just don't see how you do it! And let me not forget the salmon! Sooooo good! Lee, you are indeed the grill master!

Thanks to everyone who came over on Saturday. Moose and Katie, thanks for the corn dip. It was scrumptious (sp?)! And thanks for the recipe, too. That's a double play! Wes and Janey, thanks for making it out as well, but Janey you still owe me a lap dance! Klein dog, thanks for making the trip up from Atlanta and for bringing my favorite spirit aged 12 years to perfection. I'm saving a pour for you, my friend. And Bacardi... i meant Chris Riccardi, esq. and Molly, thank you, too for making the journey. You're good people. 'Nuff said.

Thank you, Becca for hanging out with me that night at Sidestreet. You took off more stress than you know!

Thanks Barney for gettin' sick on the one night i wanted everyone to be there... punk! But thanks for rallying on sushi night. You're a great friend and don't let me tell you any differently!

Hussey, thank you as well for taking yourself out of the game early. Your sacrifice probably saved me from puking on the first night! You're a soldier, my friend.

Thank you, Becki for givin' a brotha' a ride home that night, too. How did you know i needed one one? :-))

Thanks 21st HR for destroying my desk! Missy, Jennifer, Chris and Ashley, you are all such a joy to work with. Thanks for making me feel special... and old! Missy, i took your advice to drink AND dance responsibly!

Thanks, Charlie for the Disc Exchange gift certificate. I needed to go refind an old favorite and a couple of new ones that i'm sure will have their day. Excellent choice.

Thanks, Benson for being there almost every night and for the place to crash. We need to bring back our conversatin' time, too. I miss that. We're both busy, i know, but we need to make some time. Period. Thanks, Danielle for keeping Meka from gnawing on me the night i crashed and for listening to me snore! You're such a good lady. What are you doing with Bryan?! :-))

Thanks, Heffley, Barney, and Alexis for helping me remember how funny Christmas Vacation is. "Merry Christmas! Sh!tter's full!" Max, thanks for randomly being there! Alexis, thank you for hangin' with me earlier that evening. I love having those moments with you. "We been lickin' coconut skins and we been hangin' out. Tell 'em God just dropped by to forgive our sins and relieve us our doubt."

Burgess, thanks for being a friend for so long and for coming over to play some poker. I think you should have won that game by the way. I see a rematch in the making! And don't forget that you are still older than me... by a lot! :-)) And tell Gretchen i said thanks for letting you come way across town to play on a school night! Jason K., thanks for being the first out of the poker game! Okay, you might not have been first, but you were close. Thanks for the pizza, too. It was my sustenance the next day. Good call! Just let me know when you want to get "klobbered" in some "Golden Eye" again.

Lastly, i would like to thank God for all of you. You're all special to me in so many ways, it would take days or maybe an eternity of blogging to tell you so.

My guess is though, that you've had enough for now, so i'll check back in when we both have more time.

McSkillet in Review!

First and foremost, happy New Year to you all! I hope 2007 was a good year for y'all and hope 2008 is even better!

Okay, so i had the McSkillet several days ago and i've been meaning to write a review of it for those of you who care. First of all there are two things you should know about me first:

1) I'm a huge breakfast burrito fan! I love the d@mn things and probably have had every single one that fast food has to offer as well as several mom and pop ones. I think it's safe to say that i'm a breakfast burrito junkie!

2) I love to try the newest thing on the fast food menu. I don't know why because i'm not that adventuresome in general. I guess it stems from the fact that i don't really cook and sometimes you just get tired of eating the same old thing off the McDonald's value menu.

Now that you have some background, here's my review:

McSkillet, take it or leave it...

The McSkillet was a little underwhelming. The size of the burrito was decent and pretty filling. The sausage and egg were good, but i'm not a real big fan of potatoes in my burrito so that didn't go over well with me. I am also kind of irked by the name. McSkillet? Makes me think i should be sitting around a campfire fryin' up some beans or somethin'. Just my opinion. Pretty good value, but i think i'd take the Chik-Fil-A breakfast burrito instead. It's only $2 and it's just as filling.

In summary, the McSkillet is worth a try and if you have no other breakfast burrito options, it's not a bad choice. It definitely beats the crap out of McDonald's other smaller breakfast burrito.

Grade C+

And there you have it. My first official review. Please feel free to chime in if you've had one of these or if you have a breakfast burrito recommendation. I'm open 'cause like i said, i'm a big fan.
